Something to think about!

An affirmation is a positive thought directed at yourself. Look into the mirror. Look at your skin color, your bone structure, your hair, your body. Tell yourself how beautiful and wonderful you are. Say,

"My face is beautiful."
"My eyes are very pretty."
"My skin color is a wonderful shade of brown."
"My body is fantastic."
"I am me and I am a great person."
"I am a beautiful Black sister who only grows more beautiful with time."
"I am worthy of love and respect."
"I love myself."

Don't feel silly, because it's all true! Sometimes we have to tell ourselves how great we are instead of waiting for other people to tell us. This increases and maintains our self-esteem.

Know that you can and will succeed!

While being with the young ladies of My Sister, My Friend, I have learned to be more diverse and I have also learned the importance of being a true young lady.

Although My Sister, My Friend has only been in existence since October, I have learned to be a leader and not a follower. I have had an opportunity to meet new people and discover how a true lady should act.

My Sister, My Friend has taught me that,
"It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"
For the last few months, I have learned that I must sometimes make compromises, voice my opinion, and be more open-minded.
My Favorite Quote:
"The true measure of a woman is how she treats someone who can do her absolutely no good"
